Advanced Handgun

Level 103 - Push your skills to the limit and take your training to a whole new level. This course begins with an evaluation of each shooter’s performance and will progress quickly into an emphasis on applying more advanced techniques in difficult, real-life situations and the development of natural, reflexive, and subconscious techniques. We will also explore lowlight shooting and engagements. Every student is expected to have already become proficient in the skills taught in Right on Target - Intermediate Handgun (level 102) and/or Concealed Carry 1 (Level 102).

Course Prerequisite:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Immigrant Green Card holder.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and legally able to possess a firearm.
  • Must speak and understand fluent English.
  • Must have taken Holster Fundamentals (level 101.5) and/or possess the equivalent skill set.
    • Minimum skills/knowledge required:
      • Strict adherence to firearm and range safety rules.
      • Mindset and situational awareness.
      • Safe and efficient gun handling practices.
      • How to load/unload and perform basic malfunction clearances.
      • Ability to manage recoil.
      • Safe holster-draw-to shot and re-holstering.
      • Be intimately familiar with your equipment.
      • Be honest with yourself in regard to these skills. These skills are gained through dry practice at home and time spent on a live fire range.

What You Will Learn/ Topics Covered:

  • Continued practice of safe draw-to-shot and re-holstering.
  • How to achieve improved speed and accuracy.
  • Efficient way to clear malfunctions
  • Use of cover, concealment and movement and how to use them.
  • Clearing rooms, hallways and other common interior geometry.
  • Difficult shooting problems and scenarios.
  • Shooting from disadvantageous shooting positions.
  • Shooting while on the move.
  • Shooting in low light situations.

Equipment Requirements/ What to Bring to Class:

  • Valid ID and/or Immigrant Green Card (if applicable).
  • Quality zeroed semi-automatic pistol (with iron-sights/optic).
  • Small flashlight or weapon mounted light (and extra batteries, just in case).
  • Hard-molded strong-side hip holster (IWB or OWB) - SERPA, soft-sided &/or pocket holsters (or their equivalents) are strictly prohibited.
  • Sturdy belt.
    • Must wear pants with belt loops (no athleisure wear, sweats, etc.).
  • 500+ rounds of brass-cased, copper-jacketed ammunition.
  • 3+ magazines.
  • Magazine carrier/pouch (to hold 2+ magazines).
  • Loose fitting cover garment (button down shirt, light jacket, hoody, etc).
  • Eye and ear protection.
  • Cleaning/repair kit and lubrication (recommended for general use/need).

Course Cost:
8 Hours - $290 per person

Concealed Carry 1 with Raider Tactical

Level 102 - Developed and taught by plain-clothes Law Enforcement Officers and Executive/Diplomatic Security Agents who actively use these techniques - this is not a beginner’s course. Students should be familiar with their equipment and have a basic understanding of pistol fundamentals and gun-handling skills prior to attending this course. The drills covered will increase the shooters confidence in drawing from concealment, build skills for accurate shots, address use of cover, and teach you the fundamentals of close-quarters, defensive shooting.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and legally able to possess a firearm.
  • Must speak and understand fluent English.
  • Must have taken Holster Fundamentals (level 101.5) and/or possess the equivalent skill set.

      • Shooting fundamentals.
      • Safe holster draw-to-shot and re-holstering.

Level 102 - An absolute must for anyone wishing to conceal carry, this class is designed to equip the participant with a solid base of knowledge and skill necessary to safely carry a sidearm. You will build on what was learned in our previous classes, emphasizing safe handling – particularly as it comes to drawing and re-holstering from concealment. Get ready to have fun and shoot your way through multiple courses of fire.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and legally able to possess a firearm.
  • Must speak and understand fluent English.
  • Must have taken Holster Fundamentals (level 101.5) and/or possess the equivalent skill set.

      • Safe and efficient gun handling practices.
      • Shooting fundamentals.
      • Safe holster draw-to-shot and re-holstering.

Handgun Fundamentals

Level 101 - This class is designed as a follow-on course for our Entry Level Handgun class or for those who are already established in basic firearm safety and handling. You will work one-on-one with the instructor and coach(es) to gain more comfort with a handgun, improve your marksmanship and kick any bad habits to the curb!

What You Will Learn:

  • Learn and demonstrate firearms safety and efficient gun handling practices.
  • Recap, practice and understand the Fundamentals of Marksmanship and how it affects your shooting.
    • We do not cover malfunctions in this course.
  • Loading/unloading magazines.
  • Self-diagnose and recognize issues/potentially bad habits and how to fix them.
  • Improved accuracy.
  • Takeaway drills to continue practicing both at home and at the range.

Prerequisite:

  • Must be a US Citizen, Immigrant Green Card holder, or possess a valid Washington State ID.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and legally able to possess a firearm or, at least, 13 years of age with a parent/ guardian registered as a paying participant for the same course.
  • Must speak and understand fluent English.
  • Must have taken Entry Level Handgun, and/or possess the equivalent skill set.
    • Minimum skills/knowledge required:
      • Basic firearms safety rules.

      • Basic functions of a handgun.

      • Safe and efficient gun handling practices.

Ad for Entry Level Handgun course
Entry Level Handgun

Level 100 - The perfect starting point for new or inexperienced shooters, or for people wanting to get back into shooting after a long break. Including both classroom and range time, this class will teach the necessary skills to be a safe and responsible firearms owner. You can bring your own handgun or try out a few from our selection in class.

Please note that this class provides just a taste of what it feels like to shoot a firearm safely. It is, primarily, a firearms safety class after all. There is very little live fire in this class but it is a pre-requisite to attending Handgun Fundamentals where the focus is, primarily, shooting.

Upon completion of this class, you will receive a certificate of completion as required by Washington state HB 1143 for all firearms transfers and purchases made in Washington state.

Course Prerequisite:

  • Must be a US Citizen, Immigrant Green Card holder, or possess a valid Washington State ID.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and legally able to possess a firearm or, at least, 13 years of age with a parent/ guardian registered as a paying participantfor the same course.
  • Must speak and understand fluent English.

What You Will Learn/ Topics Covered:

  • Washington State Firearms Safety Training (as required by HB 1143 for all firearms purchases and transfers made in Washington state).
    • Basic, universal firearms safety rules.
    • Firearms and children - including secure gun storage and talking to children about gun safety.
    • Firearms and suicide prevention. Secure gun storage to prevent unauthorized access and use.
    • Safe handling of firearms.
    • State and federal firearms laws - including prohibited firearms transfers and locations where firearms are prohibited.
    • State laws pertaining to the use of deadly force for self-defense.
    • Techniques for avoiding a criminal attack and how to manage a violent confrontation - including conflict resolution.
  • Different types of handguns and their basic functions.
  • Basic gun handling (very basic).
    • Not accuracy.
    • Not malfunctions.
    • Not loading/unloading magazines.
  • Provide just a taste of what it feels like to shoot a firearm.

Equipment Requirements/ What to Bring to Class:

  • Valid ID and/or Immigrant Green Card (if applicable). Non-citizens/ non-IGC holders must provide valid WA State ID.
  • Everything required for the class will be provided by Bellevue Gun Club.

If you wish to use your own firearm during the live-fire portion of the class you are welcome to do so, provided it is chambered in either .22LR, 9mm, .38, or .45 ACP. If your firearm is chambered in any other round you will need to provide your own ammunition.
