KEEPING THE LEAD OUT

We understand that keeping lead dust at bay is a concern for responsible firearm enthusiasts. That's why we've implemented a strict lead control system that doesn't just protect you while you're at the range; it also prevents lead from being tracked home. These precautionary measure help maintain a contamination-free zone and safeguards both our patrons and the premises.

  •  State-of-the-art air filtration systems: We employ the best air system available in every shooting bay.  A complete air exchange is performed every 90 seconds, causing lead particles to be swiftly and efficiently pushed downrange, away from you and your gear.
  • Regular Cleaning Schedules: Our employees ensure lead contamination prevention through meticulous adherence to a regular cleaning schedule, coupled with the use of D-lead cleaner, effectively maintaining a safe and clean environment. This proactive approach not only safeguards our workers but also underscores our commitment to environmental responsibility.
  • Sticky Mats: Sticky mats are employed at our facility to effectively eliminate any lead debris from customers' footwear before they exit, ensuring a clean and safe environment. This precautionary measure helps maintain a contamination-free zone and safeguards both our patrons and the premises.
  • D-Lead Hand Soap: We stock lead hand soap in all of our bathrooms, ensuring easy access to a thorough hand and face cleaning after their shooting sessions.

How You Can Prevent Lead Contamination:

  1. When you leave the range blow your nose, and wash your face and hands immediately with cold soapy water. Thoroughly cleanse the facial area around your mouth, particularly if you have a mustache or beard. And for obvious reasons, blow your nose before you wash your face.
  2.  Try to wear an outer garment, like a jumpsuit or coverall, which you can either have washed after each range session or leave in your locker. This will prevent carrying the lead dust on your clothing into your car and home.
  3.  Likewise, have a pair of shoes to change into after you get off the range. If you do go home wearing the same outer clothes you wore on the range, change them immediately, and put them in the washer.
  4. Washing your hair before bedtime is also a good idea. Your hair can hold a lot of dust, and you will transfer it to your pillow every night. Again, these precautions are particularly important if you have young children at home.
  5. And finally, have your blood lead level checked every six months to make sure the precautions you are observing are adequate.
