Level 103 - This course is designed to give the shooter tactics to use in a low light environment. In diminished lighting it is crucial to understand how to effectively search, and navigate, as well as properly identify and be able engage a threat if necessary.

This course is designed by current Law Enforcement, Executive Protection Agents, and Military contractors that have operational experiences in working in diminished light situations. This course will go beyond just how to use a light while firing your pistol in low light, but will also include how to use your handheld light to increase your survivability in a threat situation.

What You Will Learn:

  • Safe handgun practices in diminished lighting
  • Manipulations and malfunctions
  • Various flashlight options and how to use them effectively
  • Understanding the principles of Low light use
  • An understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the weapon mounted light, and hand held lights
  • Defense tactics using a hand held light.
  • How to safely search and use movement in low light situations
  • Target to target transitions
  • Proper use of light to increase your survivability

Prerequisite:

  • Valid ID and/or Immigrant Green Card (if applicable)
  • Quality, zeroed, semi-automatic pistol in good working condition (with iron-sights/optic)
  • Weapon-mounted light and/or hand-held flashlight (with extra batteries)
  • Hard-molded holster (IWB/OWB) - SERPA, soft-sided &/or pocket holsters (or their equivalents) are strictly prohibited
  • Sturdy belt, or duty RIG
  • Minimum of 250 rounds of brass-cased, copper-jacketed ammunition
  • 3 10-round magazines, 4 if less than 10-round magazines
  • 3 inert/dummy rounds
  • Magazine carrier/pouch
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Cleaning/repair kit and lubrication
