Instructor Chris Kahrs

Chris Kahrs is a retired Law Enforcement Officer of over seventeen years. His experience in law enforcement involved a variety of security and special mission executive details that included but was not limited to high-risk prisoner transport, witness protection and executive protection on numerous occasions of high ranking foreign and domestic government officials, including the President of the United States. During his career in law enforcement Chris acted as the SWAT liaison within the community and as the instructor for firearms in citizen’s academies. He regularly collaborated with cross-functional teams, developed and maintained strong relations with numerous other public agencies including SWAT teams, fire fighters, attorneys, press representatives and court personnel.

Chris started his career in law enforcement in 1997 and within five years became a member of his department’s SWAT team. During his career, Chris received thousands of hours of annual and special training and experience in subject matters involving trauma based medical training, emergency vehicle/motorcade driving courses, firearms, defensive tactics, less lethal weapon systems, executive protection as well as airborne and maritime operations. Chris has worked as a firearms and less lethal/chemical munitions instructor at Bellevue Gun Club for the last five years. In addition, Chris works with several companies as an instructor training armed security and executive protection teams for various large corporations in the Puget Sound area.

Chris holds multiple certifications in the skills associated with firearms and lethal training. Some of these include, but are not limited to trauma based medical training such as Department of the Army Combat Medical Simulation Training, Tactical Emergency Medical Training, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Emergency Field Care, basic first aid, CPR and AED. His firearms skills are extensive due his training, experience and multiple instructor certifications obtained throughout the years as well as having been the Department Armorer for the King County Sheriff’s Office. Chris teaches all ages and skill levels and enjoys developing a student’s situational awareness, mindset and skills so they can confidently take charge of their personal safety and defend themselves and those around them.
