Brett Bass has worked in suicide prevention with an emphasis on lethal means safety since 2015 when he was recruited to represent the firearms industry of the state legislature’s Safer Homes Task Force. He subsequently managed a statewide program for Forefront Suicide Prevention and is currently in charge of suicide prevention education and training for Nineline Veteran Services. Brett served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 2006 until 2019 as a military policeman with overseas service in Latvia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan. He majored in history at the University of Idaho.
Brett started his career in the firearms industry after returning from his third deployment after several years of civilian work in private security. He currently holds certifications from the National Rifle Association as a rifle and pistol marksmanship instructor, Range Safety Officer, and Chief Range Safety Officer. Brett has had the privilege to have trained under some of the world’s foremost defensive shooting instructors, including Ken Hackathorn, Larry Vickers, Daryl Holland, John Holschen, Zach Harrison, David Sanders, Chuck Pressburg, and Jared Segraves. Over his career, Brett has trained thousands of students in the safe, responsible, and effective use of firearms.
Brett’s current availability is Thursday and Friday evenings, between 6 and 9pm.
